Ventura (officially San Buenaventura) grew up around the mission Father Junípero Serra founded in 1782. Today its downtown Main Street is known for thrift and antique shops, and a long wooden pier reaches out from the Promenade. The Channel Islands sit on the horizon.
In 3D you can walk Main Street past the mission, down to the Promenade and out along the pier. Shops, bars and cafés with real names have interiors, and the hills behind downtown rise on real elevation data.

Getting there in real life
Amtrak's Ventura station is on Harbor Boulevard by the fairgrounds and the beach. Downtown Main Street is a few blocks inland, and the Ventura Harbor ferries to Channel Islands National Park leave from the harbor to the south.
