Our 3D Reality is operated by Planet Zuda, LLC ("we", "us"). It has no ads, and no third-party analytics or tracking scripts run in the game. Here is everything the site collects and why.
When you open a town, walk into a place, order, chat, share a link or arrive through a #link, your browser sends a small message naming the town, the place and the action (for example, "Camarillo · Mister Softee · visit"). We add these up as daily totals per place, so we can see which places people enjoy and tell local businesses how often their place is visited in the game. We don't store your IP address, and we don't set cookies or keep any identifier for these counts. The totals are kept in files that are not publicly accessible.
If you send feedback, we store what you type (town, street, venue, coordinates, message), an optional email address if you give one, a shortened salted hash of your IP address to stop spam floods, and your browser's user-agent string. We use it only to fix and improve the site and to reply to you if you asked.
If you vote for next week's movie in the Old Town cinema, we store the title and a weekly, salted, shortened hash of your IP address, so each person gets one vote a week. We keep only tallies. No names and no email.
If you upload art, we store the image (re-encoded, which strips hidden metadata such as location), the optional display name you give, and a salted, shortened hash of your IP address for rate limiting. Uploads are private until approved.
If you subscribe, we store your email address, when you subscribed and a salted, shortened hash of your IP address. We use it only to send occasional updates about the site. Every email has a working unsubscribe link. We send these ourselves, not through an email marketing service, and we never sell or share your address.
If you create an account, we store your username, a securely hashed password (never the password itself) and your game progress (cash, cars and paint jobs). Signing in sets a session cookie so you stay signed in. To delete your account, ask through the Feedback form.
Some things are saved only in your own browser's local storage, such as prizes you've won, your relationship with the game's locals and your game settings. This is never sent to us, and clearing your browser's site data erases it.
Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) for security and operations, under its own policies.
Visit counts are kept as monthly totals. Feedback, votes and uploads are kept until we prune them. To have your feedback or subscription deleted, send a request through the Feedback form with the email address involved, or use the unsubscribe link.
We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us personal information, tell us and we'll delete it.
If our data handling changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
