Fillmore is the 'last, best small town' of the Heritage Valley, with citrus groves, a preserved downtown, and the Fillmore & Western Railway, whose vintage trains have starred in films. Its public excursions from the depot ended in June 2021, when its lease on the county-owned line ran out.

Getting there in real life

Fillmore is on Highway 126, about 30 minutes east of Ventura. The depot and Central Avenue downtown are one block north of the highway.
