Berlin's most elegant Christmas market, set between the Konzerthaus and the French and German cathedrals.
The Christmas market on Gendarmenmarkt sits in the square framed by the Konzerthaus and the French and German cathedrals in Mitte. It draws around 800,000 visitors a year. It has a strong craft focus, and a big tent is set aside for artisans working in front of visitors.
In 2026 it runs from 23 November to 31 December. There is an admission charge, and part of the money is donated to cultural and social institutions in Berlin every year. It is especially good for handmade gifts.
