Thousand Oaks' Thanksgiving-morning 5K and a mile run/walk, with a costume contest. Proceeds go to local charities.
The Five07 Turkey Day Dash is a Thanksgiving-morning run at Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, with a 5K and the Zack Zernik Mile run/walk. The race was started in 2004 by the Southeast Ventura County YMCA and now draws nearly 3,000 people. After a three-year break, Five07 Coffee Bar revived it in 2023.
It is a family community event with a costume contest, and the proceeds go to local charities: Scouting America Ventura County, the Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks Foundation and Hospice of the Conejo. The organizers say last year's race raised more than $81,000.

What to expect

Tips for going
- Park in the lots near Olsen Road and Mountclef Boulevard, where volunteers direct traffic
- Pick up your packet on November 24 (1–7 PM) or November 25 (11 AM–5 PM) at Road Runner Sports, 1714 Newbury Road, Newbury Park
- Someone else can collect your packet if they bring a copy of your ID
- Arrive early. Festivities start at 7 AM and nearly 3,000 people take part
