An evening walk down the candlelit Siq to the Treasury, now with a projection show on the Treasury facade. Tickets (30 JD) are sold at the Visitor Center.
Petra by Night is an evening walk through the Siq, the narrow canyon into Petra, lit by more than 2,000 candles. It ends at the Treasury (Al-Khazneh), where there is traditional music and a projection-mapped show on the facade.
It runs Sunday to Thursday from 8:30pm to 10:30pm, all year. It is a quieter, atmospheric complement to a daytime visit, for anyone staying overnight in Wadi Musa. The whole experience lasts about two hours. You need a daytime Petra ticket as well, and it is not covered by the Jordan Pass.

Tips for going
- Buy tickets at the Petra Visitor Center; online booking isn't available yet.
- You need a daytime Petra ticket too. Petra by Night isn't included in the Jordan Pass.
- Wear comfortable shoes for the uneven ground, and bring a warm layer and a small torch.
- Don't use flash photography.

About Petra
Petra is the Nabataean city carved from rose-red sandstone. Walk through the Siq canyon and Al-Khazneh, the Treasury, appears at its end.
Getting there: Petra's visitor centre is in Wadi Musa. On selected evenings 'Petra by Night' lights the Siq and the Treasury with candles.
